I’m a former journalist (spending 27 years as a sportswriter at the daily Rochester, NY Democrat and Chronicle newspaper) who started mountain climbing while covering the outdoors. God turned this new love into a passion to reach unreached people living in mountainous areas around the world. He birthed Climbing For Christ (C4C) and began sending us to places where others cannot or will not GO. Since April 2005, we have conducted more than 135 short-term missions focused primarily on equipping, empowering, and encouraging indigenous workers. Climbing For Christ is serving full-time in a dozen countries – from the Himalayas to the Andes, from Mount Kilimanjaro to Mount Ararat, and from the volcanoes of Indonesia to the Chaine de la Selle range in Haiti. I have been blessed with a partner in life and Climbing For Christ, my wife (of 43 years), Elaine. We have a son, a daughter, a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law, and a 2-year-old grandson who has already been on a C4C mission trip.
